Behind the Layers

If you are going through life comparing yourself or your success to others, stop it right now!!! We as humans tend to live life on what I like to call “Layers”. I say layers because it’s similar to an onion which has many layers. The more you peel back the layers of an onion, your eyes eventually begin to burn which leads to tears. It’s the same with life or your vision of someone else’s life or success; meaning you only see what is on the surface of a person or a person’s life.  What appears to be one way on the outside may be totally different once you start to pull back the layers and get a good look at what’s really going on. You never know what an individual is going through or has/had to go through to be where they are as you see them(on the surface), so don’t be fooled. Once you get a really good glimpse of what’s underneath those layers, you may change your mind totally about wanting to be in that person’s position. Now if you are using another person’s success as a motivation tool on your part, then by all means do whatever it takes to keep you motivated to achieve your goals. But if you are comparing yourself to someone else as a means to tear yourself down or anything negative, then you need to stop before you drive yourself crazy. Remember this; there is only one “you” in the whole world. There may be someone that dresses like you, has similar interests, talks like you, or maybe looks pretty similar to you, but the bottom line is they are not you. The moment you accept the fact that you are unique and are one of a kind the sooner you will learn to accept that someone else’s place in life is not your place, and the sooner you will be able to give 100% to your goals and dreams!!!

At Peace

Sometimes in life you have to disconnect yourself from certain people and sometimes it may be your own family members.  You may be at a point in your life where enough is enough and you simply don't have time for negativity or drama. I think we all reach a point where we are tired of the foolishness and we decide and choose to be at peace.  I must say that I am at that point and oh how peaceful it is.  When you have done the  right thing and you know in your heart it was/is the right thing; that is really all that matters.  As long as you can lay your head on your pillow at night knowing that you have truly tried to treat people the way that you want to be treated--then pat yourself on the back, say job well done and keep it moving.  Stress is unnecessary and so is chaos.  You can want the best for someone until you are blue in the face, but if they don't want it, then you are wasting your valuable time.  Life is too short for nonsense so if you have people in your circle that are bringing nothing but negativity; it's time to let them be miserable by themselves and cut them off. Enjoy your life and don't let those unappreciative individuals change the person that you are.  Continue to treat people with love because what you send out in life will always come back to you.  Stay in love and be at peace.

Insecure Women

So a few days ago the hubby and I went to meet up with a relative, just to hang out for a little bit before we went home. We were all outside talking, laughing, and having a good time when my relative thought that it would be a good idea for me to go inside and say hello to the ladies. Just to back track a little bit, I was outside with the fella's and the ladies were inside. I never seem to have a problem with men; it's always the women bringing drama. I'm saying ladies to be nice actually. Nevertheless, I was hesitant because I already knew what the outcome would be, yet I went inside anyway. The way that I was raised and one of my grandmother's golden rules was, if you went into anyone's home you always spoke. So me being the person that I am and reflecting on how I was raised, it just comes natural for me to say hello. There were 3 ladies sitting at a table playing cards (didn't think people our age did that, lol). When I tell you, two of the three women did not open their dang mouths and just gave me a look like, "Who does this chick think she is?", that is exactly what happened. The 3rd lady mumbled, and I do mean mumbled-under her breath, I'm assuming, "how are you doing". I say assumed because it was so low, I couldn't really understand what she said. The entire time, they continued looking at me as if they were wondering why I was even there.  I just got the heck out of there because I already knew the type of women that I was dealing with. I've dealt with this type of madness all of my life so I'm use to it and I guess it doesn't change as you get older either. I just think that is so ignorant to behave that way and what is wrong with saying hello to someone. All I will say is insecure and jealous, and I guess I'm doing something right. It's all a part of living in the city known as the twilight zone!!!!

Street King Energy Shots Review

I must say that 50 Cent's Street King Energy Shots absolutely do exactly what they say they will do which is give you energy. I've tried at least four of them so far and each time I was no longer sleepy and full of energy. I would definitely recommend these as the energy shot of choice.

Richii's Glam Palace

Check out www.richiisglampalace.com to order my new lipgloss line.  It glides on smooth and is non-tacky with a fruity flavor.  Try it for yourself, you will love it.

50 Cent Street King Energy Drinks

Got these in the other day and I will try them and write a review. Each bottle that you purchase feeds a hungry child so it's definitely worth it to purchase. So far they come in two flavors which are grape and orange mango which come as a 12 pack for $19.99. I purchased the grape flavor.  I'm a 50 Cent fan, so I decided to get them a try.

Nail Polish

So I've decided to go back to manicures instead of damaging acrylics for a while. During my transition I have been experiencing with different nail polishes and found a few that I love on my nails.  I am a hairstylist and not a nail tech so my polishing skills are average, but they work for me. I've tried some experiments to help with making my manicures last longer than one day which became too time consuming-having to change polish just about everyday to keep my nails looking nice. These are the polishes that I like along with the clear coats that I used on top.

After manicuring my nails and cleaning them really good with fingernail polish remover, I polished my nails with one coat of either of the above polishes. In the photo above I used Pure Ice Watermelon Ice. Then I placed my nails under my UV Lamp for about 4 minutes per hand.  After that I applied a second coat and repeated the UV Lamp for another 4 minutes per hand. With the Watermelon Ice, I used the Hard As Wraps Gel wraps. This is my first time using this so we will see how long it lasts and I will post.
Before I was using the NYC Love Letters using the same application but as a top coat I used the Double Duty. This combination typically lasts me, about a week and a half and I have been doing my nails like this since then.  I have a professional UV Lamp that I purchased from a Professional Supply Store for Cosmetologists but I'm sure Sally's may have one similar.  Try it out and let me know if it works for you. Also after each top coat, I placed my hands back under the UV Lamp to cure them for another 4 mins. This is what locks everything in and really makes the polish last without chipping. Good Luck.
